Energy UK is the trade association for the energy industry with over 100 members spanning every aspect of the energy sector.
From established FTSE 100 companies right through to new, growing suppliers and generators, which now make up over half of our membership.

The Breif

Over the years, the events requirements at Energy UK have grown. From their annual conferences to COP26 events,  Breakfast Briefings and the many training courses they host.

They needed a powerful event-based system to support multiple delegates in one booking, with members, non-members and charity prices, sales statistics and a flexible email system capable of sending out scheduled reminders!

The Challenge

Group pricing & access control

The challenge was delivering an event system capable of supporting different group pricing; sending out separate branded emails to members, non-members and charities. It needed to operate within the website access control system, permitting special rates and resources for trade association members.

Statistical data

Another key feature was statistical data. We all know how important it is to collect and analyse data from events. It needed a way of helping the event teams measure things like attendance, engagement and feedback.

Support for multiple delegates

In their research, Energy UK found that it was common for one user to purchase multiple tickets for its company delicates. As such, delicates full names and email addresses needed to be collected and exported for event registration on a day.

When you think of a CMS, many will think of access control, the ability to assign different resources on a website to users.

When you think about a booking system, you immediately understand its ability to sell tickets or booking. However, you can provide a user group with special booking privileges or send a specific group of delegates custom emails and reminders when both can work together!

The system allows you to measure success by analysing attendance, engagement and feedback, allowing you to figure out where you could improve for the next event.

You can also run reports, filter orders, and download in a CSV format. The system extends to Order Status, Payment methods, Days, months, year, or a custom date range, filer with a coupon code, Tax number and Postal codes.

Support for multiple delegates

We extended the same concepts to menu management, made it earlier and brought it to the front.

By making the menu editing page aware, site publishers can edit the menu directly (please hover over the image) without using a complex screen. The same principles extend to creating a new menu item for a page.
